One Thing

So…the only thing you need to know.

Well, almost.

Somebody today was complaining about how complicated things have become, how hard to figure out. And at some level the noise out-blasts the whispering truth.

But when that happens, for years now, I return again and again to the four legs on the table upon which I have tried to build my life.

Four things.

“He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8)

Do. Justice.

Love. Kindness.

Walk. Humbly.

With. God.

When things seem amiss I stop and ask God about each one in turn. Like this, “God, am I doing Justice. Will You show me?”

And He does. Right away. Without fail.

Because He loves us and want all four legs strong enough to be able to hold the table groaning under the load of grace and blessing.
